Short answer
A mutation multiplies a brainrot's base income. Gold gives ×1.25, Diamond ×1.5 and Rainbow ×10. Event mutations go up to Eclipse at ×14. A brainrot can only have one mutation at a time.
How the multiplier works
Every brainrot has a base income per second. The mutation multiplies it: a 50K/s brainrot with Rainbow earns 500K/s, ten times as much.
Rebirth cash multipliers and traits stack on top, but nobody has published exactly how traits combine, so treat trait bonuses as a rough extra.
Permanent vs event mutations
Gold, Diamond and Rainbow can appear on normal red-carpet spawns any time. Gold shows up about 10% of the time and Rainbow about 1%.
Everything else (Bloodrot, Candy, Lava, Galaxy, Yin Yang, Radioactive, Cursed, Divine, Cyber, Phantom, Crystal, Eclipse) only comes from events. They usually return during Admin Abuse events or reruns.
Is a mutated brainrot worth more than a better one?
Often, yes. A cheap brainrot with Rainbow (×10) can out-earn a brainrot that costs five times more without a mutation. Compare income per second, not rarity.
Our calculator lets you set the mutation for each brainrot on your base and shows your real total income.
Quick ranking
Best permanent: Rainbow ×10. Best overall: Eclipse ×14 (event). Weakest: Gold ×1.25, which is nice but rarely worth paying extra for in a trade.
